A Friend In Need is a Friend Indeed

Once, there was a boy named Jack. He lived on the outskirts of a well-known town named Maryland. He had moved there about 5 years ago when his father got a job transfer. At first, it was difficult for Jack to adjust to a small town, but soon things got better for him. He made a few friends at his new school and was doing well in his studies. He particularly got close to one of the boys named Noah. Noah had also recently moved into town. Jack and Noah became friends instantly as they had a lot in common. They had both just moved into the town, their fathers had got job transfers, and they both had an older sibling. Soon Jack and Noah started meeting up after school to finish homework or explore the city. It had been a year since Noah and Jack had been friends. Unfortunately, Noah’s father lost his job and his family was facing a lot of financial problems. With a lot of courage, Noah told his friend Jack about this problem as he trusted him. Jack was very supportive and also offered Noah to stay at his house till things got better for Noah’s family. Soon, Noah had to leave school and start working to support his family. During this process, Noah lost a lot of friends and no one was there for him through this difficult time except Jack. Jack helped Noah through that situation like a true friend. This is when Noah realised that he had made a best friend- Jack. Noah worked day and night and could finally support his family. Their financial conditions were met and their family decided to move back to their hometown. Jack was unhappy on hearing this news as he didn't want his best friend to leave. Noah was sad too and tried convincing his parents to stay in Maryland, but it wasn't possible for them to do so. Jack and Noah said their goodbyes and promised to stay in touch.

A few years passed, and Jack and Noah were adults now. They did not stay in touch for very long as they both got busy with their lives. Jack had recently gotten forced out of his previous job as the company was shutting down. Jack was very stressed on hearing this news as he had no way to support himself now. Jack instantly started looking for jobs but could not find any. One day, Jack went to a coffee shop to fuel himself with food and saw a group of people sitting on one of the tables. They all looked like they belonged to a company and were there for some kind of project. Jack found one of the faces familiar and waited till the group left to go up to that person. He instantly recognized the face and said with shock “Noah?”. “Jack!!” replied the other person. They hugged and started catching up. Jack asked Noah how he was in town. Noah said that he had a company of his own now and had to attend a conference in Maryland as the company owned a branch there. Jack was very happy for Noah and congratulated him. They had been speaking for hours and Jack finally told Noah that he could not support himself and was searching for a job as he lost his old one. Noah empathized with Jack and instantly remembered the time when they were in school and Noah had to face something like this. Jack was the only person there for him, the only person who believed in him. Noah told Jack about that incident and thanked him again. Noah offered Jack a job in his company as they were looking for new employees. Jack was elated after hearing this news. He was so happy and relieved that he could finally work. Noah called Jack for an interview the following day and instantly gave him the job as he aced the interview. Jack started managing the Maryland branch of Noah’s company and soon became the manager there. Jack was very grateful for Noah and thanked him.

This friendship between Noah and Jack teaches us a lot of things. It teaches us what a true friend is. Jack helped Noah without any hesitation and never wanted anything in return. However, when Jack was in trouble, Noah was there for him and helped him without a second thought. This is what a true friendship looks like. A true friend walks by your side even when no one else does. A true friend does not leave you in difficult situations but faces them with you. A friend is someone who you can trust and someone you can speak to without hesitation as friends are the family you choose for yourselves.
