Art. What a small and simple word, isn't it? But there is something about this so-called simple word that has always tickled my brain. When we simply think about art, the first thing that comes to our mind is a canvas, some paints or colours, and brushes. Being an artist myself, over the years I have been able to captivate the true beauty and hidden meaning behind art. I have come to realise that it is not a mere practice of creativity or imagination, rather it is a transformative force that transcends cultural, temporal, and societal boundaries, enabling us to perceive the world with fresh eyes.
In Elizabeth Broun’s words, “Art is not always about pretty things. It's about who we are, what happened to us and how our lives were affected.” It is we, who are art. We are the tiny intricate brush strokes spawned all over this earthly canvas. We perceive one another as simple living creatures but there is so much more to us than we realise. We are that profound form of expression that is here to make others understand us and to make people realise the inner beauty of life. Though it may seem delusional, Art is actually the way of living. Everything we see, and everything we do adds to that universal canvas.
People possess unique physical characteristics that can be appreciated and admired as forms of art such as sculpting, and portraits. A person's thoughts, emotions, and experiences can be viewed as an intricate and ever-evolving landscape that constitutes their inner world. Just as a painter or writer captures their thoughts and emotions through their art, individuals possess a unique narrative and perspective that can be considered a form of art. Our journey through life and the method of transformation is a symbolic process of creating art. All painters, sculptors, writers or even dancers need to elevate or improve their pieces in some or the other way just to bring out that real creative spark. Similarly, humans experience a series of evolutions throughout their lives. Since everybody is unique, we leave an everlasting impression on people by showcasing our talents, methods of expression, behaviour, and conduct. The way we interact with and inspire those around us can be seen as a form of artistic influence, shaping the lives and experiences of others in meaningful and profound ways.
This proves that we are the existing force of art that display colour and deepness in society. Our shadows, our shades, our emotions, and our style all come together to create that one fathomless picture. Every step we take, every word we speak, every move we make and every breath we breathe is a dynamic change to that picture. So the next time you feel worthless about yourself, think of this- every beat your heart makes is that one beat necessary to keep this picture alive with glory.
