Chicanery - Part 2

Joshua took Mr. Watson to a doctor to see if he was hallucinating.

Mr. Watson walked into the doctor's office. This time, he did not see the same face that he had been seeing.

Mr. Watson explained the entire situation to the doctor.

"Well, Mr. Watson, lie down on this table, please. I will do a check-up on you shortly", said the doctor.

He then left the room for a few seconds, and when he returned Mr Watson was shocked to see the same face.

"Oh my god! It's the face! The doctor has the face! "he screamed.

He rubbed his eyes for a few seconds and when he opened them the doctor's face had changed again.

The doctor calmed Mr.Watson down and did a check-up on him.

"Well, Mr.Watson, your condition does not look good at all." He said in a sad tone.

"You need to take these pills for your condition to improve." The doctor handed Mr. Watson the pills.

"These are very expensive. How many of these do I need to take?" Mr.Watson asked.

The doctor handed him the timings for when the pills are to be taken and how many Mr. Watson should take.

Mr. Watson kept seeing the same face in the coming days. The same face on different people. However, his condition slowly improved. He started to see it less often.

The medication that the doctor recommended was quite expensive.

The doctor charged a lot for them and every week Mr.Watson bought new pills for schizophrenia and other conditions from the doctor. Joshua took care of Mr.Watson and told him to rest.

A few weeks later, Mr. Watson went back to the doctor for his final check-up and to pay him for the last bit of the medication. After doing so, he left the office.

"Did he leave?" asked a quiet voice hidden in the room.

"Yes."replied the doctor.

Two men came into the room from a different door. They both had the same face; they were twins. It was the same face that Mr. Watson had been seeing.

"It’s over. You did a great job. You really made that old man think he was going crazy!" the doctor laughed.

"Well, it was tiring. I must say, Joshua helped a lot." said one of the twins.

"Yeah. We had to keep changing our outfits and going to different places. Joshua and I practiced the face-swap trick so much", said the other.

Joshua had betrayed Mr. Watson and together they had tricked him and robbed a good amount of money from him with the fake medication.

Mr. Watson had nobody else but Joshua, and he always blindly believed what he said.

He was a gullible old man who had put all of his trust in Joshua. He was vulnerable and dependent on one person who betrayed him.

That was exactly what Joshua took advantage of.

In today's day and age, many vulnerable people are manipulated and exploited, even when they may not know it. Mr. Watson thought something was wrong with him, that it was all in his head and he was going crazy, but he was deceived, and that's how people today manipulate others. They make you think that something is wrong with you when in reality, they are the ones who deceive you.
