CORVUS VALE

Corvus Vale. One of the most famous secret societies in the world. It was formed by a

group of the most powerful and rich people in the early 1800s. It was well known across

the globe for the heists that they pulled off. They had even attempted to steal the

crown jewels. Even though they were so famous, they have never been caught in the

history of their existence. But let’s ignore that for now and meet our hero, Jack.

One day Jack was taking a walk before work when he passed by an old abandoned Fish

& Chips restaurant and was surprised at what he saw. Normally an abandoned

restaurant would hold no interest, but what was surprising was what was going into the

restaurant. An entire truck full trays laden with food was being unloaded by servers in

full uniform. He wondered what could be going on. He wanted to check it out but would

be late for work if he did. So he decided to check after. He went back home quickly

changed for work and left.

At work he just couldn’t concentrate. He kept thinking about the servers and the food

and the old restaurant. At long last, he finished his work and left. On his way home that

evening, he could contain his curiosity no longer. Against his better judgment, he turned

the corner and reached the restaurant.

The truck was still there. He tried to go in but the brutish guards didn’t grant him

passage to go inside. Now he was really intrigued, he had to find out what was going on.

He tried using a fake mustache and wearing rags to pass off as a servant but to no avail.

But then he thought ‘I must find a way to get in without being recognized. And then a

thought came into his head, ‘if I stole a server’s uniform from the truck that they came

in I could easily sneak in with the next shift of servers’. But how would he know when

the next shift came? He put two and two together and realized that if the servers came

and around 7o’clock that morning and another shift came in at 2o’clock during his lunch

break then it would probably be a 9 hour shift which meant that if it was 10:45 pm right

now then they would probably change shifts at 11o’clock which was in only 15 minutes!

He had to get ready fast.

He noticed that the servers had left the back of the truck open. He also saw a hook with

some servers’ uniforms inside. Whilst the guard had his back turned Jack quickly snuck

in to the back of the truck. He skimmed through the uniforms and found one that was

his size. He went into the corner of the truck quickly changed and hid his clothes in a

nearby alley. Then, he crouched at the corner of the street the restaurant was on. 5

minutes later he saw the servers going in for their shift. He snuck out and joined them

all. Sneaking in with them was a breeze in the uniform. He had finally gotten in!

Jack was just wondering where they were going when they stepped through two of the

biggest double doors he had ever seen. He looked around and saw a room as big as

Wembley Stadium and furnished even more expensively than that of the Buckingham

Palace. He looked around in awe and wonder. He had never seen anything so beautiful.

Then he looked up and noticed the elegantly decorated banner that was bigger than a

12-seater table. It read ‘Welcome to the 217 th anniversary of Corvus Vale’.
