Finding Simplicity in the World of Complexity

“Life is really simple but we insist on making it complicated.” -Confucius

Today in the rapidly evolving world we are forgetting what really matters, we are forgetting who we are and are being bogged down by all sorts of pressures. If one is to look at the broad picture, each and every being from the tiniest blade of grass to the largest form of life are abstract, unique, complex and yet extremely simple.

Sometimes life can be complicated and there is no denying that, but we tend to make it even more complicated than it needs to be. The speed, stress, expectations and uncertainty in life act as an accelerant to the already existent blazing fire of complexity that surrounds us. It suffocates us, holds us back and prevents us from seeing clearly. Complexity need not clutter and dominate our mind. We must declutter, destress and direct our energy only on those matters which are important to us.

Simplicity is doing what you love, spending time with those who are your biggest cheerleaders, pursuing your passion, ignoring negativity and beaming with the spirit of hope and positivity. Simplicity is almost like a sixth sense. It is when you know something is right and everything fits together. Go visit a place that brings a smile on your face, call a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while, go out and spend time amongst nature, grab a book you’ve been wanting to read for a while or simply sit on your window sill looking at the happenings on the street below. It is up to each one of us to shatter the roadblocks and complexity and pave the way for simplicity.

As said by Steve Jobs,“Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.”
