Mental Health

Our ability to feel emotions is what defines us as “human”. These emotions significantly impact our overall well-being, not only physically but also mentally. There comes a time every now and then when nothing feels right and we cannot think straight. This might seem like a mood swing, but when it occurs repeatedly, help must be provided. When it comes to ‘mental’ health, many are restricted by their deep-rooted ideology and orthodox mindsets. We often ignore and sideline the very evident symptoms that we may face and refuse to get help, keeping in mind others' opinions about us. Given the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, the world is facing a rough patch and millions are rendered unemployed. In this scenario, each one of us is facing stress. Some of us have it worse; we’re also battling Depression, Anxiety, PTSD and OCD. Naturally, seeking help from a therapist or even visiting one is a task. It requires a bundle of courage to sit in front of a stranger and spill your heart out, but you must know that seeking help only makes you stronger and allows you to grow. Battling your mental health is not something you do overnight. It requires constant dedication and effort. We have now reached a phase of excellence, wherein therapy is being made available to everyone who needs it. Through free and group therapy, we’ve come a long way. We now live in a time where one need not shy away from seeking help. Mental health is an uphill battle but what gets us through it is the hope of a better and brighter tomorrow. All it takes is a tiny bit of courage.
