THE FUTURE OF AUTOMOBILES

The future never ceases to surprise. What lies ahead is absolutely mind-boggling. With recent advancements in AI and technology, the automobile industry has made an impeccable leap towards its development. Most vehicles today use ICE, which stands for Internal Combustion Engine, a heat engine in which combustion of fuels like diesel and petrol takes place with an oxidizer inside a combustion chamber. Although it ensures the smooth functioning of our cars, it creates a lot of pollution due to the emission of dangerous gases like sulfur oxides and hydrocarbons which are rich in chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). These CFCs are responsible for the depletion of ozone in our atmosphere which can lead to life on earth being impacted as the harmful UV rays of the Sun can cause life-threatening diseases. This is dangerous and harms the environment significantly and is posing a threat for future generations. The automobile industry has acknowledged this and has tried to bring environmentally friendly greener fuels with the help of advanced research.

To our delight, the automobile industry is now ready for the next big leap and is promoting the use of Electronic vehicles. They have many benefits as they have rechargeable electric batteries, are quieter than ICE vehicles and have zero emissions and carbon footprint. They are low on maintenance but come at a higher penetration price right now and can only travel a certain distance in a single charge so calls for a need to have easily accessible charging stations everywhere.

Another innovation that the automobile industry is moving towards is automatic cars, convertibles and smart cars which are going to be user-friendly, handicap friendly and would have sensors due to which cars would be able to connect and communicate via lasers, detectors and radars that would allow them to self-drive and map their locations for a safer driving network. Fascinating, right? These automobiles will be gifted with the ability to create a 3D map of surroundings and be able to predict future outcomes and prepare mitigations and perform safety procedures in case of an accident with ease via algorithms. These automobiles will have a LiDAR system which would allow them to emit lasers and create a visual map on the GPS screen permitting it to map contours and assist the driver while parking and driving.

They will also be machine learners as they would be able to learn from previous outcomes and experiences. The most exciting thing is that this technology will not be restricted to cars, but can also be applied to wagons, e-bikes, trains, aeroplanes and more. This futuristic development could handle complex situations without any problem and would deem fruitful to humankind. Aren’t you excited to travel in an electric aeroplane soon? I know I am!
