THE MYSTICAL MONSOONS

In a village in Maharashtra, Aryan was sitting in his room looking at the drought his village was facing. He was sad thinking about all the farmers and people suffering due to the drought. He was lost in his daydream of rains and was trying to do something for his village; In the afternoon, he called his friends to his house and was sitting in his room. They were generally talking and decided to go out for a walk. While talking an old man came up to them, looking worried and distressed, gave them a map, and left. Aryan, Sima, Ishaan and Dev were extremely confused. Who was this man? Why did they give them this map? Where would it lead them? These questions flooded into their minds and they were overwhelmed with curiosity. They decided the only way to find out was to follow the map.

They immediately went to the forest and started searching for the x, inquisitiveness consuming them. While going through the woods they saw all sorts of different plants, and some scary animals they ran from. They also found a cute dog they named Sam and decided to take him with them. Once they reached the place they could see nothing but a cave!

There was a glowing rock in the middle and none of them wanted to touch it. After 5 minutes of discussion and an intense game of rock paper scissors, they decided on Aryan taking the rock. Aryan was quite the daredevil and wanted to impress his friends so he went for it. He walked slowly towards the rock, and stopped right next to it. The second he touched it there was a HUGE sound of thunder, and he started making weird noises. Sima Dev and Ishaan ran for their lives thinking he had become a werewolf of some sort, but as soon as the reached the entrance they couldn’t go out!

It was raining cats and dogs and it was too dangerous in the thunder! Aryan came walking to them looking fine, and explained to them that he was just pranking them and nothing had happened except a water-like sensation he couldn’t describe. The second he touched it he saw streams, waterfalls, and heavy rain. They waited and waited for the rain to subside but it just wouldn’t stop! Dev told the others to run at the count of three and not stop until they reached their houses. In 3 seconds they were off, at the speed of a cheetah not wanting to get wet. By the time they reached their house each one of them had a cold and was soaking wet. Aryan had the stone and had kept it in a black box so that the light did not escape it. His parents were extremely worried for him and were wondering where he had gone. They were celebrating the rain and wanted to celebrate with him but he was nowhere to be seen! He went for a bath, dried off and came out. He told his parents about his adventure in great detail, and they were amazed!

It stops raining by night and the smell of the wet soil is a delight for all. They are extremely happy and all the townspeople are rejoicing and dancing. The next week it doesn't rain at all, and the excitement has died down. Sima tells Aryan to give her the stone and he does so, but the second she touches it she understands what Aryan had seen! A loud clapping sound came again and the rains started. They decide to tell the villagers about the stone, and the chief takes the stone from them in exchange for a great deal of money to each of them.

They start using the device once every week, and everything seems fine, or so they thought.

Every time they used it the weather lasted longer and became more violent. They would randomly get wildfires, and the rain was so much that the crops would die! They tried everything and stopped using the stone, but the rain never went. It kept getting worse whether they used the stone or not. Aryan thought and tried countless ways, but was not successful. At the end Aryan, Dev, Ishaan, and Sima met with the whole village and decided to throw the rock into the river.

Once they did this their rain was back! And the violent weather was gone for good.
